Remember all the way to this morning and everyone was freaking out that Bieber had secret footage stolen from him by a Twitter user named @gexwy and we all had to glue ourselves to our computer’s at 12:00pm to find out what it was? Yeah, well, that was a very complicated viral video PR stunt created by Bieber himself to get people pumped for his new music video.
OMG, seriously? What a brat. We were waiting for a sex tape to release, and instead he drops a music video? Lame.
Hollyscoop actually predicted this earlier today. Fans started getting suspicious and we put two-and-two together and figured out that the build-up was just to generate false excitement for his video with Nicki Minaj, “Beauty and a Beat.”
In case you still aren’t convinced, Bieber himself confirmed that he was “in on it.”
And then at noon, as promised, the phony twitter account AND Bieber’s account tweeted out the Bieb’s new music video. So yes, 12-year-old girl in Canada who doesn’t understand what’s going on, there’s no leaked footage! Nobody stole anything from Bieber! Bieber made it all up, because he likes pranks!
That being said, the video is really cool! It’s filmed as if Justin filmed a crazy pool party with his personal camera, so it’s like scripted “leaked footage” if that makes sense. Also, Bieber grinds up on Nicki Minaj and it’s equal parts disturbing and tantalizing. Just watch the video.
